Elias flew a few feet, before grinning and backflipping up. From his belt to his foot he had a large weapon hooked on: a scythe. He distatched it. It was small for a scythe:only about 3 feet. "So be it." he murmured.

Marie reached for her hammer, and her heart skipped a beat: it wasn't there. She glanced over her shoulder, at the ground below, and saw her weapon embedded in the roof of a car, the vehicle's alarm wailing. Feeling a growing sense of dread as she turned around, Marie gave Elias a sheepish grin, inching away from the edge of the roof.
"Uh, well, it seems your shadow monster thing has apprehended my weapon," she said. "It wouldn't be a very fair fight, now, would it?"

Elias grinned. "Yeah, it wasn't going to be from the beginning." he said, cornering her on a roof. He was so close until Teal exploded from the stairway. "Marie! Get down!" he yelled, and fired two shots into Elias' stomach. Elias' eyes widened, and he stumbled a bit, before falling off the edge of the roof. The valgon growled, flying down after his master.

Marie screamed, ducking down when Teal had shouted at her to, then scrambling to the edge, wondering what was to become of the Valgon general.

The valgon was already a speck in the sky, and the general was no where to be seen.

Shaking slightly, Marie got back to her feet, moving away from the edge.
"Teal, where did you come from?" she asked, turning to face the older teen.

"I saw you enter. I followed you and killed off those Nightcrawlers while you continued upward." he explained. "I just made my way up her at the right time, I guess."

Marie closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. She opened them again, and nodded.
"Thank goodness you did," she said. "I could have...well, you know." She hated to think about that.

"Mhm. And it looks like he might." Teal said with a frown, checking the ground. "The valgon got 'em, though."

"My hammer's down there," Marie said, sounding off-handed. She rubbed one of her upper-arms with the other hand, looking slightly embarassed that she had to be rescued. "Um, thanks," she muttered.

"No problem. It's what I do." Teal recited, used to the line. "Or, did."

Marie only nodded, unsure of what to say.
"Can I ask you something?" she asked (ironically).

"How did you manage to survive, but the other officers or cops didn't?" Marie asked, trying to make it not sound as bad as it did in her mind.

Teal thought it over. "Well, how were you able to survive, and the other kids your age didn't? Luck." he stated.
