Abel dared not look behind him as he ran beside Crimson. "A shadow?"

"Yeah!" she told him. She was down the stairs and was now running past the torture rooms. "Hurry Abel! I know somewhere we can go!"

Crimson rushed out the door to be face to face with a bunch of shadows. Her eyes widened and she stopped.

Abel stopped too, before bringing out his sword. He swung with all his might, slashing through the first shadows when the sword caught the door frame. All of the force finally broke the old sword, and it broke into long thin pieces. "No!" Abel cried.

Crimson grabbed his hand and dragged him away from the scene. Towards the safety she's always known. Toward her home.

Abel reluctantly let her lead him away. He stared with horror at the wooden handle.

"It should be." Crimson stated. "Momma and Daddy said that it's the safest place ever and if I ever got in trouble I should always come here."

Crimson followed suit. She remembered her parent's dead bodies were still on the floor. "Abel! Wait!"

Crimson took his hand and led him past her parents. "Just because." She led him up the carpeted stairs to her room, which had been untouched by shadows. "You may open them now."

Abel opened them to see the place untouched. He smiled, reminded of home.

Crimson sat on her bed. The room was dim. The moon's pale light illuminated through the large windows that were behind the side of her bed. Crimson's hair glowed faintly.

Crimson sighed. "Noah is going to be mad at me..." She looked at her bloody hand.
