Grabbin' Supplies and trying not to die. A normal day after the end of the world!

Aravella walked into the abandoned Dollar General, cautiously looking around for shadows before walking towards the fridge in the back of the store. She grabbed Gatorades and waters before looking around for nonperishable foods. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw a figure, then quickly pulled her sword out.

The figure at the other end of the store had been looking at some of the other items such as coloring books and art supplies. It quickly turned and looked at Aravella before pulling out a weapon of its own. The shape of the weapon looked oddly peculiar for it was sort of in the shape of a boomerang. It focused its gaze on the newcomer before taking a few steps toward her. "Oh! You're not a shadow," A higher pitched, girl-voice called out. The figure soon stepped into some light that showed through one of the windows. A girl of about 5 and a half feet stood in front of her, her dark blue hair hanging down around her waist. Her bright green eyes stared at Aravella curiously before she blinked. "Sorry about that..."

Aravella lowered her sword, but didn't relax. " It's fine." She said quietly, still looking at the girl cautiously. Aravella was about a half a foot taller the her, and her strawberry blonde hair fell to her shoulders. She gazed at her with narrowed blue green eyes.

The girl studied Aravella curiously for she had never seen her before. That's when she realized how tense she was. "Oh, I'm not an enemy. Don't worry," She told her with a reassuring smile. "I'm Hope Galloway. It's nice to meet you!" Hope then extended her hand out to the girl to shake.

Aravella stared at the girl in surprise. Pausing for a moment, she shook her hand. " Aravella Princeton. Um, nice to meet you too." She said awkwardly.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Hope looked around. "Well, what are you doing at a place like this?" She tried to ask as politely as she could.

Aravella smiled slightly and ran her fingers through her hair. " Getting food." Duh She thought, looking down at the drinks and snacks that she dropped whenever Hope arrived. " What about you?" She asked, matching her polite tone.

"Oh, I'm just kind of looking around. Things haven't really been the same since the shadows reappeared..." She muttered. "Wait, speaking of, where do you live?"

Aravella looked down at her feet. " Um.. Well, sort of.. No where really." She murmured. " I just stay where it's convenient." She said glancing at Hope.

"Well then I'm being quite rude! How would you like to come with me to the Walmart near here? There's actually quite a few of us that live there. There's plenty of room for you!" She said with a smile.

Aravella's eyes brightened, but she quickly looked down. She couldn't trust anyone, she reminded herself. But the idea was still tempting, no matter how much trouble she could run into. " Okay." She said, with a strait face, but she couldn't hide the happiness and excitement in her voice.

"Great!" Her small smile turned into a large grin. "If you want, you can bring those drinks with you." As she was speaking, Hope was already picking up some of the drinks that were lying on the ground.

" Alright." She said, leaning over and grabbing more drinks. After she had all that she could carry, she turned to Hope. " Ready?" She said eagerly.

She nodded with an excited smile. "Let's go!" She replied, already running out the door of the store with her arms full of snacks and drinks.

Thinking quickly, she grabbed a bag and clumsily threw the drinks in there as she walked after Hope, then she ran after her, the bag safely on her back.
