What a Dark Place

Marie-Claire stared at her hands. She was silent for a moment before saying, "I miss my friends."

Noah blinked. "The only friends I had were my neighbors." he said.

"What were they like?" Marie asked.

"Well, they are the people at the Walmart." Noah said. "I was a rich home schooled kid."

Marie raised an eyebrow.
"You were?" she asked. "You don't really seem like it."

"I don't?" Noah blinked. "This jacket costs 100 dollars."

She glanced up at him.
"I didn't even notice," she admitted. "You just seem so normal. Plus, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between expensive and copies anyway."

Noah nodded. "Alright then-"
He blinked, as he saw a shadow far away. It seemed like a creepy slender person, only taller. "What's that?" he asked.

OOC:=w= Due to my short love of Slenderman, I added a creepy shadow form of him. Except there is like 239424240! :D

Marie looked around the tree, and felt almost paralyzed when she saw the shadowy figure as well.
"I have no idea, but it doesn't look good," she said, reaching for and gripping the handle of her hammer.

The shadow rushed forward, with long claws on one hand. Noah brought up his morningstar, until.....wait...
"My morningstar! I must have dropped it when you dragged me here!" he exclaimed.

Marie's mouth fell open.
"You're kidding!" she cried. The girl watched, horrorstruck, as the shadow came closer at a high speed.

"Hey. Don't yell at me!" Noah snapped, raising his fists. "I just gotta do this the old fashion way."
Yeah. Because rich teenagers know how to fight. When the shadow reached him, Noah, threw a fist, and the thing caught it, throwing him into a tree. Noah winced. "Bad idea, Bad idea."

"Hey!" Marie yelled, catching the thing's attention. "You leave him alone!" She spun around, almost as though she were competing for farthest throw in the World Olympics, and launched her spike-covered hammer at the shadow.

The shadow was thrown to the ground, and instant disappeared. Noah dusted off his hands as if he did something. "I weakened it." he murmured.

The girl smirked, grabbing her hammer from where the thing had dissipated.
"Sure you did, Noah," she muttered.

Noah frowned. "Now. Morningstar, oh morningstar, where aaaare you?"
He looked behind the tree he was leaning on, blinking. "Oh. It was right here the whole time...." he murmured, blinking. "Heh..."

Marie shoved Noah by the shoulder gently.
"You could have been saved from being slammed into a tree," she teased. "But you're blind as a bat."

"Hey. No pain, no game." murmured Noah. "Besides. I would have probably killed myself with this thing. I still can't really use it that well."

"It's gain, not game," Marie smirked. "Where did you get that thing, anyways?"

Noah blinked. He never knew that. He never got any sayings right, anyhow. He was never smart like father.
"Oh, this. I broke it out of my family's weapon room. it was the only thing decently intact."

Her blue eyes widened.
"Your family had a weapons room?!" she exclaimed, then softer, "Noah, that's amazing!"

"Well, we also had an entertainment room, a school house, 125 bedrooms, 28 bathrooms, and 12 kitchens."
he blinked. "And 53 maids."

Marie's eyes were huge.
"That sounds like a fairytale," she murmured.

"Jealous?" grinned Noah. "The place is up the street. I could take you there, but it is probably overthrown by shadows, and nothing works."

Marie grinned.
"I would love to see it," she answered. "I bet it's still beautiful, even if it's crawling with shadows."
