Marie sat up on her elbows.
"It's fine, don't worry about it," she said. Her stomach rumbled. "Why am I always hungry?!" she exclaimed, falling back and throwing her arms up in exasperation.

Noah smiled. "You are cute when you are angry." he murmured, leaning over her and kissing her.

Surprised, Marie's eyes widened, but after a moment, she kissed him back. Then she pulled away. Blushing, she asked, "What was that for?"

"Might as well do that if we die in here." he joked, laying down next to her.

Marie's head swam.
"Die in here?" she voiced. "Come on, we have food and water. Plus, the shadows have to get bored of waiting at some point."

Noah blinked. "Shadows enjoy just hanging around places. There are out on the streets all the time. Unless we can find some way out."
He was weaponless, and not as cunning as his father. Noah sighed.

Marie turned over on her side to face Noah.
"Well, somebody's bound to notice we're missing, right?" she whispered. "They'll come looking for us, and a bunch of shadows hanging around outside a closed door has to be suspicious."

Marie put a hand on his shoulder.
"Come on, don't be like that," she told him. "We have to be optimistic. If not, what do we have to fight for?"

Noah thought it through for a moment. "I guess you are right."

Marie looked at him a moment longer before she got up.
"I wonder what kind of food is in here," she mumbled to herself, digging through the cupboard. Cans of fruit, a couple bags of chips, some cans of soup, and two boxes of cereal. "What do you want?"

"Fruit please." he muttered, barely audible because a headache was pounding in his head.

Marie looked at him in concern before grabbing a can of the peaches. She snatched a box of Fruit Loops for herself, then went back over and sat by Noah.
"Are you gonna be okay?" she asked softly.

Evan had been walking past the Town Hall, and heard noises. It went, loud noise, thunk, gasp. He thought nothing of it, until a swarm of shadows started entering the building. He went and took a look inside, and just saw a door close as the people in the building went in there. He quickly sprinted off to get someone or more than one person to help him save them.

"I'm fine." he whispered, grabbing the can. He started awkwardly eating.

Marie opened her mouth to say something, but instead shook her head and closed it again. She popped the box open and began eating the cereal. It was a little stale, but delicious.

When Noah was done, he felt fatigue. Without realising it, his eyes dropped, and he fell asleep.

This alarmed Marie. She set her cereal box down slowly, stopping mid-chew.
"Noah?" she said softly, then louder, "Noah?" Gently, she shook his shoulder. "Noah, please don't sleep. Please? You can get a concussion if you're not careful. Don't sleep." The girl ran a hand through her black hair, feeling like pulling it out.

Marie was speechless now. She merely shook her head and kneeled next to him. She hoped that somehow, they would make it out alive.

Evan ran back with his bat, hoping someone had followed him to the Town Hall when he had shouted into the Walmart that someone was in danger.

Dylan was walking when he saw Evan shouting into the Abandoned Walmart then running off again. Dylan followed.

Looking up, Marie listened hard. She could have sworn she heard something outside the building.
"Noah, did you hear something?" she asked, getting to her feet.
